Wholesale registration without Shopify Plus
A B2B registration form for Shopify, no Plus needed.
Shopify's native B2B (companies, B2B markets, wholesale catalogs) runs on Basic, Grow and Advanced, not only on Plus. What it does not include is a storefront form where a business applies for a wholesale account. B2B Onboard adds that form and the approval step, and creates the native B2B company when you approve.

Native B2B without Plus, and the gap it leaves
What Shopify gives you on Basic, Grow and Advanced, what is missing, and how the registration step fills it.
What native B2B gives you without Plus
On Basic, Grow and Advanced you can create B2B companies with contacts and locations, and give them wholesale pricing through a B2B market with up to three active catalogs. Company buyers log in to their customer account and see your wholesale prices at checkout. You do not need Shopify Plus for any of that.
What it does not include: a way to apply
Shopify does not include a storefront form where a business applies for a wholesale account. Companies are created from the admin, by import, or by an app. Without a registration step, every new wholesale buyer is an email thread and a company you type in by hand, often with the tax ID copied from a PDF.
How B2B Onboard fills the gap
Buyers apply through a form you build in the app, served through Shopify App Proxy, so your theme files are never edited. You review the application in the Shopify admin. On approval, B2B Onboard creates the B2B company, contact and location, and adds the location to your default B2B market so your wholesale prices apply from the buyer's first login.
The one part that needs Plus
Assigning a catalog directly to a company location is a Shopify Plus feature. On Plus, approval assigns your B2B catalog straight to the new company. On other plans, Shopify routes wholesale pricing through B2B markets instead, which is what B2B Onboard uses there. Tax ID checks against VIES, HMRC, ABN and NZBN run on every plan.
Setting it up on Basic, Grow or Advanced
Turn on B2B in your Shopify admin and set up a B2B market with a catalog that holds your wholesale prices. Install B2B Onboard, pick a registration template, and link the form from your storefront. When an application comes in, approve it in the app: the company is created and joins the market, and the buyer gets an email to log in.
If you already use a wholesale pricing app that works on customer tags, B2B Onboard can add those tags on approval, so your existing pricing rules pick up the new buyer. See the getting started guide and the FAQ on Shopify plans, or how B2B Onboard compares with Sami, BSS and Wholesale Gorilla.
